Description

Presents his card for the Henry Clay Female Free Academy, which he hopes to establish; lost his property in Washington, DC, by misplaced confidence; also met with losses at Springfield, Massachusetts, New York City, Troy, New York; broke his knee in November 1846 and again in November 1847; asks Partridge for five dollars as he is destitute.

The date is assumed from postmark.
