Description

Resigned from the army and was engaged in mercantile pursuits until his partner absconded with much of his property; has been working as an engineer for the State of Virginia, but the salary is insufficient; now wishes to apply for an office position in Washington; will Partridge write him a letter of recommendation; he was an 1814 graduate of West Point; mentions his former classmates Nathaniel H. Loring and Thomas Ragland.
