Description

Regarding the rental of a room there for Partridge's lectures in January; if Partridge speaks on annexation, do not give the lecture a political cast; asks Partridge about the newly formed "Mountain Howitzer and Rocket Corps"; mentions the death of Major Ringgold and states many other Marylanders have fallen in the present war.

No officer with the surname of Ringold found with an 1836 death date. A Samuel Ringgold died 10 years later in the Mexican War.
